Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. will launch its backseat television service exclusively in several DaimlerChrysler cars and minivans later this year

In an effort to get a larger market share, Sirius breaks out of it’s radio mode and aims to air television service. The system will cost just under $500, with a monthly fee ranging from $7-13 monthly. It will include the Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and the Cartoon Network. Have no fear, Adult Swim won’t be broadcasting in the cars, Cartoon Network’s adult toons.

Dell’s Misconduct

In a short news release, the Round Rock, Texas, company said the internal audit had “identified a number of accounting errors, evidence of misconduct, and deficiencies in the financial control environment.”Further details were not provided, and Dell spokesman Dwayne Cox said the company was unable to comment further.

Quoted from Yahoo News

Things could get ugly, and it looks like prices will be falling. On hearing the news, shares fell. The question is how ugly is it, and how much misconduct. Not a lot more is available at this time, and they will miss their filing time of April 18th, it’s been noted.

Advancing Technology, Night Vision Enhanced

Tenebraex has upped the ante by developing a pair of goggles that help both soldiers and physicians to see an entire spectrum of colors at night - a vast improvement over what is currently available in the market. These goggles will be made available to the Army for approximately $6,000 a pop

Quoted from Coolest-Gadgets.com

With such advances in technology, I’m surprised there’s not a pair out yet that not only show night vision in color, but also orders your pizza, does a background check on the driver, and handle the monetary transaction through electronics.

I think it’s a great advance, but honestly, it does surprise me it’s something that’s taken this long as far as we’ve come otherwise! Good news for the Army though, and the doctors who will be using it.

How Long Would You Last?

How long would you last?

This was an interesting watch, and I know I go through that feeling when I walk away from my computer on vacation. I panic I might miss something the first day or two, then I relax. That’s on vacation, imagine walking away from technology when you are hooked. My mother on the other hand doesn’t go through that stress, because she hasn’t become dependent to it!

Laptops for the Wounded

When a mother, Laura Brown, learned of a hospital’s lack of laptops for wounded soldiers, she went to action. The thought that soldiers had email in Iraq and not in a hospital for wounded soldiers, something didn’t see right. She set out to start donating laptops to these hospitals so that the soldiers could have contact with their families, communicate, see their loved ones with cameras, and also be able to watch movies or television close up, for those with eye injuries. At this time, her efforts have raised the ability to donate 27 of these laptops all ready! 24 were donated to the Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington.

I first heard about this story on Yahoo! Tech

UtterlyGeek and Lifehacker

I was over at one of my favorite tech blogs UtterlyGeek the other day catching up on some reading, and there was mention that the Lifehacker comments were going to be opening up. Thanks to Julie, I headed on over there, and sure enough they were. Yours truly is now able to comment there now; very nice. Lifehacker is a great source of information which highlights interesting programs and products, as well as offers well written articles. I always find some cool new stuff thanks to Lifehacker and they always keep it interesting. Two of the latest articles that caught my eye were on Tumblr and of course a favorite of Firefox Add Ons…because finding add ons that other people love are always a great way to try something new. Some of my personal favorites are Color Tabs and Cool Iris.

If you’d like to comment at Lifehacker, check out their FAQ here.

Julie rocks and her blog over at UtterlyGeek talks in a voice that anybody can understand. That’s one of the best concepts…talking to your audience, not over them. She keeps things real and doesn’t try to over explain things in terminology that makes your head spin. If you haven’t checked out UtterlyGeek, head over there now!

Little America

I was over at Little America and saw an article about Darren of ProBlogger.net being mentioned in a book. I’m a fan of Darren’s blog as well and read it often. It’s a great resource if you’re trying to monetize your blog. He lists ways to target an audience, as well as ways to improve what you’re all ready doing.

One of the other topics I noticed over at Little America was about SEO, and right now it would seem as if Google is playing with their numbers again shaking things up. PR’s are moving up and down, and there’s been some new additions to their ad program as well. Over at Little America, they think the hub about SEO isn’t as hard as people make it to be, and has his own point of view. Check out this up and coming blogger over at Little America today, and hear another voice.
