Google Gears To Go Offline

Google Inc. said on Wednesday it had created Web software that runs both online, and offline, marking a sea change for the Internet industry by letting users work on planes, trains, spotty connections and even in the most remote locations.

Google is looking to make their mark offline too. Google is now the biggest and most widely used search engine, and with their many added applications, people are becoming more and more reliant on Google for their online tasks. What they are looking to do now, is give you the ability to use things like your readers, mail and other things without that internet connection. They are using something they call “Gears Technology”. What they are looking at first is with their reader. You’ll be able to check for updates, download those updates and read. Sounds an awful lot like, “connecting to the internet” first, if you ask me.
