Who is going to work for you? Are you doing it all, or will you be hiring somebody? When you’re considering going into business, you have to consider the costs of labor. It’s easy to believe you can do it all by yourself, but there will come a time when you’ll need to grow your business, and having another person or two can make the difference.

If you go in and do all the work every day; basically you have a job. You are your own boss, but you’ve created a job for yourself. When you are able to delegate tasks to others, it then frees up some time for you to find ways to grow your business, expanding your intake. Do you want to go in everyday and have a job, or do you want a business that thrives and continues to expand? After you’ve asked yourself those questions, you need to start understanding the costs of labor.

Labor will be one of your most expensive sectors of your business, if not the most expensive. It depends on how labor intensive the type of work you do is. Here are some things to consider when working out the cost of labor.

  • Benefits
