It’s that time of the week or month again, time to order supplies. You pick up the phone, grab your list and give your supplier your order. What’s that? They don’t have item XXX in stock? When will they have it? Not until 2 weeks from now? Uh-oh, you need it much sooner than that!
It’s a simple scenario, but one that will teach you a lesson. Have a back up plan. That delivery didn’t come overnight like it was promised because there was an error on the supplier’s end, maybe a new employee, maybe they didn’t ship it out fast enough, but now you’re stuck.
It’s great to have a good relationship with your supplying company, but it’s better to have a relationship with more than one company. Have a back up plan, and know that there’s someone else you can contact.
